Lately

Happy Thursday, friends! Apologies about the lack of blog post yesterday. I rarely miss a day in all of these years of blogging, so that should really illustrate how crazy things have been! But I am back and getting into my routine again. YAY!

Our trip was so much fun. Too much fun. In case you missed it, we went to Mexico with family and friends for a week for a wedding! It was such a beautiful wedding, and we had the best time. I truly didn't have much downtime at all, so I feel like I need a vacation from the vacation. I plan on doing absolutely NOTHING this weekend other than catching up on work and sleep.

Being away always reminds me how thankful I am for home. I am always so happy to get back and sleep in my own bed. Day-to-day routine can feel so dull and monotonous, but it's nice to be reminded how wonderful that routine actually is!

I also missed Henry so much. We boarded him. He has been boarded several times before, but this was the longest he's ever been without a family member since all of my family was at this wedding. I was having terrible anxiety before I dropped him off because I was so nervous about what he thought and how he would be treated, but it was nice to see he was cared for. I loved getting the photo updates. The amount of times I refreshed the photos was insane. Picking him up yesterday was just pure relief and joy. He's the very best.

Wearing: I love easy pieces in the summer. The easier, the better. This striped set is so cute and classic and really does make getting dresses a breeze. It's 100% cotton so if you plan to dry it in the dryer, size up.

Eating: 'Tis the season for one of my favorite easy summer meals. I'm going to get all of the ingredients to make this weekend!

Sale: If you create an account on Adidas's website, you can take advantage of a sale. I was able to snag these golf shoes for just $54 on sale!

Watching:
I started One Day on my flight and am about four episodes in. It's a drama/romance series on Netflix! I am enjoying it so far!

Loving: These flat claw clips are SUCH a game changer. They're so great for holding your hair back while driving and not interfering with the headrest but during our trip, I discovered how nice it was to have my hair clipped up and be able to lay my head back on my lounge chair.

Wanting:
How cute is this inexpensive raffia clutch?!

Pittsburgh: Excited to try out this new food hall in Lawrenceville soon!

Steamer That I Use For My Bedding

Steamer That I Use For My Bedding and Clothing

Steamer That I Use For My Bedding and Clothing

Steamer That I Use For My Bedding and Clothing

I had to look back in my Amazon orders to see how long I've had this steamer, and it has been well over three years. I have been using and loving it!

I love crisp white linens on my bed. It's such a simple pleasure for me. I love washing my bedding and changing the sheets frequently for that fresh bedding feeling.

Whenever my sheets, duvet cover, and shams come out of the dryer, they are usually a bit wrinkly. Years ago, I would literally iron my bedding. It would take forever, and sometimes, I would just let it be wrinkly because the ironing was so tedious.

Then I discovered a steamer, and I've never looked back. I take my wrinkly bedding, put it on my bed, and then while the linens are ON my bed, I steam everything. It's so much easier, and the entire bed takes me all of 10 minutes. You can get a good idea of the steamer in action in this Instagram Reel

I used to have this steamer, which is really great and it had held up for years. However, I dropped it on my bathroom floor, and it broke! So I ended up replacing it with this this steamer, which is the same brand.

I'm amazed at how well it works. You just plug it in, and it heats up quickly, and you can begin steaming. The face of the steamer (where you see the silver in the top photo) actually heats up, so it's like an iron and steamer hybrid. The heating plate is not as strong as an iron, though, so keep that in mind. The steam that comes out of this is like one of those big professional steamers. It's crazy!!

It is the perfect thing to use on my bedding. I also use it for all my clothes, and my husband loves it. The only thing that this does not work perfectly for are men's shirts (if you want that starched look). Otherwise, this is amazing!

Another reason I love steamers is because steam heat kills a lot of germs/bacteria etc. I've used it on house stuff, too, like blankets, curtains, and napkins!

Steamer That I Use For My Bedding and Clothing

I just recently got the travel version of this steamer. I've used the larger steamer for travel, but it's cumbersome and a bit heavy. I always worried it would put my suitcase overweight or take up valuable space. This travel steamer doesn't have a hot plate on the front, but it works well for travel. It's much smaller and lighter weight than my larger steamer. The water reservoir is also a lot smaller than on my larger steamer, so you can really only do one garment at a time and then have to refill, but that's all I am ever really doing while on vacation- one or two items a day! This is also dual voltage so you can travel without a worry! I don't think I would use this one as my only steamer, but I'm so glad I spent the extra money to get the travel size, too.

The Best Undergarments To Wear Under White Jeans

The Best Undergarments To Wear Under White Jeans

Tis the season for white bottoms, so I'm sharing an updated post about my favorite thing to wear under white bottoms!

It's kind of weird to share what underwear I wear on the internet, but I am taking one for the team here because I spent so. much. time. searching for this exact pair, and it's such a good find. I decided to share a photo of myself in white pants rather than a product photo here; hope you can understand, ha! But you can find the underwear I am talking about, here (also available in a 3 pack and a 2 pack).

I've always worn seamless nude thong underwear under anything white. Not only do panty lines not show through, but the nude color is totally invisible against anything white!

I was originally buying Victoria's Secret seamless thongs, and somewhere along the line, the quality dramatically decreased. I switched to Target and then Aerie, and just in the past year or so, I noticed the quality was decreasing. When I say quality decreasing, I noticed the underwear cut seemed to be off, the fabric felt thinner, and just an overall lesser quality product.

So I went on the hunt. I really didn't know where to start, so I turned to department stores like Nordstrom and Bloomingdales, and I ordered SO many nude thongs from many different brands at all different price points. These were the winners based on fabric, price, and comfort. The price occasionally changes due to different sales/promos, but they average $6ish per pair! It's crazy because I haven't ordered from this brand since probably 2006.

I sized up to a medium in these because they are a young adult brand, and in those kinds of brands, I always feel like I should size up for more coverage. These are cut generously and not skimpy, but I am still glad I sized up. Just to give you a point of reference for figuring out your own sizing, I wear a small in Aerie, VS, and Target.

So these are  almost the only underwear I wear under white garments. I buy 10 pairs at a time and rotate out the old ones periodically.  I will say, I do buy these if the others are sold out. I love them, and the quality is great, but they are pricier, so they and because of that, are not my top pick. They're also one size, which is odd. They fit me perfectly, but I don't actually they the sizing would work for everyone.

If you don't take my word for it, check out the reviews, which are mostly all 5 stars!
